Personnel competence schemes

Independent assessment of individual competence where clients or regulators require it. In partner enablement, part of Training and enablement, the operations, NOC, support and training layer holds personnel competence schemes, drawn against ISO/IEC 17024. We build it into every site for partner enablement against that standard, and keep its version and its test results on the site’s record.

The problem

Integrators and suppliers, on one practice

Networks run for years; staff change. A system only the vendor understands is a system you rent forever, and one that degrades the day the vendor leaves. Training is how a network stays yours, and how its quality survives staff changes, contracts and years.

Integrators and suppliers, on one practice

Networks run for years; staff change. A system only the vendor understands is a system you rent forever, and one that degrades the day the vendor leaves. Training is how a network stays yours, and how its quality survives staff changes, contracts and years.

  2. What it does

    Specification
    ISO/IEC 17024
  3. Device management and onboarding

Enrolment on the Observatory Protocol grid

Moving a device through the protocol enrolment states to admitted for its scope. In partner enablement, part of Training and enablement, the device management and onboarding layer holds enrolment on the Observatory Protocol grid, drawn against Observatory Protocol specification. We build it into every site for partner enablement against that standard, and keep its version and its test results on the site’s record.

    Specification
    Observatory Protocol specification (open)
  4. Time and place

When and where, on every record

Every record made for partner enablement carries its time, from a clock disciplined by satellite time or a PTP grandmaster, with the position and siting record of the station that made it. When time or position degrades, the record for partner enablement says so, and every user downstream sees the same warning.

  5. Open protocol interfaces and federation

    Conformance testing

Tools and test suites that check devices and software against the protocol. In partner enablement, part of Training and enablement, the open protocol interfaces and federation layer holds conformance testing, drawn against Observatory Protocol specification and OGC Compliance Interoperability and Testing approach.

    Specification
Observatory Protocol specification (open) · OGC Compliance Interoperability and Testing (CITE) approach
  6. Trust

    Proved before it is trusted

A node joins a network for partner enablement only after its hardware root of trust answers an attestation challenge. Its keys stay in secure hardware, its software arrives signed and every record it makes for partner enablement carries a signature, so anyone downstream can check where a value came from.

  7. Evidence

    Traced to its specifications

We trace each part of partner enablement to its specification: ISO/IEC 17024, Observatory Protocol specification and OGC Compliance Interoperability and Testing approach. We keep the versions, configurations and test results of partner enablement as signed records, so a buyer or an auditor can check what was delivered against what was specified.

    Standards
ISO/IEC 17024 · Observatory Protocol specification · OGC Compliance Interoperability and Testing approach
  8. Operations

Every node watched, every incident closed

The operations console shows every node of a network for partner enablement with its state, its plan and its evidence. An alert arrives with its data and a runbook, acknowledging it opens a work order, and an incident for partner enablement closes only when the operator records the cause and verifies the fix.

  9. Failure and recovery

When a node fails, the fleet knows first

When a node for partner enablement goes silent or a sensor drifts, the node buffers its data and fails over to a second link where the site has one. The alert carries the evidence a responder needs, and the record for partner enablement loses nothing and counts nothing twice.

  10. Field service

One crew, from survey to repair

One crew surveys, installs, commissions, calibrates and repairs the sites for partner enablement, working from each site’s own record. Each visit updates that record, so the next crew knows what is on a site for partner enablement, when it was last checked and why it changed, and plans spares from that history.

  11. Updates

    Updates in rings, with rollback

Software and configuration reach a fleet for partner enablement in rings: one canary site first, then a few, then all, each ring gated on health and data completeness. A failed gate stops the wave, and each node for partner enablement returns to its last good release without a site visit.

  12. What you get

    Academy paths, on-site enablement

Academy paths, guides and the glossary are open. Operator and technician training and on-site enablement are contracted; pricing follows the people trained and the sites involved, and the material remains available to your team. Courses can run on your site, at ours or remotely for the theory, with the practical parts always on real equipment.

  13. Next step

    Partner enablement, planned with you

Tell us the sites, the systems partner enablement must work with and the outcome you need, with a map or a list of addresses if you have one. An engineer replies with a survey proposal, a design and a scope for partner enablement, and the plan grows from one site to the network you need.

01What it is

Operations, NOC, support and training.

Everything that happens on the ground across a site’s life: survey, permits, design packs, logistics, installation, acceptance, training, operations, maintenance, upgrades, decommission and recycling, done safely and recorded as evidence. How observations move from the edge into stores, catalogues and APIs with their provenance, licence and residency attached, and how they interoperate through open standards and the open Observatory Protocol. The radios, networks, gateways, device management and field protocols that connect low-power sensors and controllers to the grid, sized to a measured power budget. Each technology below carries what it is, what we do with it, and the standard it is drawn against.
