NR bands, duplexing and synchronisation.

Technologies

• FR1 mid-band TDD (n77, n78) The 3.3–4.2 GHz capacity layer for most 5G deployments, including Canada's 3500 and 3800 MHz bands.
• FR1 low-band FDD 600–900 MHz bands that give rural reach and in-building penetration.
• FR2 millimetre wave (n257, n258, n260, n261) 24–52.6 GHz bands for very high capacity over short range, fixed wireless and venues.
• FR2-2 (52.6–71 GHz) Rel-17 extension into the 60 GHz range for short-range, very wide channels.
• Upper 6 GHz and 7–8 GHz candidate bands New mid-band ranges under study for IMT-2030 that would add wide channels with mid-band reach.
• TDD frame alignment and inter-operator synchronisation Common frame structure and phase sync so neighbouring TDD networks do not interfere with each other.
• Carrier aggregation and dual connectivity Combining carriers and LTE/NR legs to raise throughput and reliability.
• Dynamic spectrum sharing Running LTE and NR on the same carrier during migration.
• NR in unlicensed spectrum (NR-U) NR operating with listen-before-talk in 5 and 6 GHz shared bands.
