Resilient PNT frameworks

Structured ways to assess and raise how well equipment resists, detects and recovers from PNT disruption. In resilient PNT, part of Positioning, navigation and timing, the resilient PNT layer holds resilient PNT frameworks, drawn against US Executive Order 13905 and DHS Resilient PNT Conformance Framework and used beside inertial and multi-sensor navigation on the same sites.

Several sources, cross-checked, one trusted solution

Positions drive autonomous trucks; timestamps order every event in a network. When a receiver is jammed or spoofed, both can be wrong while looking perfectly normal. Integrity has to be designed and measured, because a degraded signal rarely announces itself to the systems that depend on it.

    5G as a timing source

Delivering accurate time to devices over 5G for industrial and utility uses. In resilient PNT, part of Positioning, navigation and timing, the resilient PNT layer holds 5G as a timing source, drawn against 3GPP TS 23.501 clause 5.27 and 3GPP TS 22.104.

  4. Resilient PNT

    Time over fibre

Delivering time from a national or regional reference over terrestrial fibre as a GNSS-independent source. In resilient PNT, part of Positioning, navigation and timing, the resilient PNT layer holds time over fibre, drawn against ITU-T G.8275.1 and IEEE 1588-2019 and used beside optical clocks and quantum navigation sensors on the same sites.

    Terrestrial beacon systems

Ground transmitters giving indoor and urban positioning and timing. In resilient PNT, part of Positioning, navigation and timing, the resilient PNT layer holds terrestrial beacon systems, drawn against 3GPP TS 37.355 and used beside signals-of-opportunity navigation on the same sites.

    Specification
    3GPP TS 37.355 (TBS positioning)
  6. Time and place

When and where, on every record

Every record made for resilient PNT carries its time, from a clock disciplined by satellite time or a PTP grandmaster, with the position and siting record of the station that made it. When time or position degrades, the record for resilient PNT says so, and every user downstream sees the same warning.

  7. Resilient PNT

    Terrestrial radionavigation

High-power low-frequency signals that are hard to jam and provide time and position independent of GNSS. In resilient PNT, part of Positioning, navigation and timing, the resilient PNT layer holds terrestrial radionavigation, drawn against US Executive Order 13905 and DHS Resilient PNT Conformance Framework and used beside LEO PNT on the same sites.

    Specification

  8. اعتماد

    Proved before it is trusted

A node joins a network for resilient PNT only after its hardware root of trust answers an attestation challenge. Its keys stay in secure hardware, its software arrives signed and every record it makes for resilient PNT carries a signature, so anyone downstream can check where a value came from.

  9. شواهد

    Traced to its specifications

We trace each part of resilient PNT to its specification: US Executive Order 13905, DHS Resilient PNT Conformance Framework and ITU-T G.8275.1. We keep the versions, configurations and test results of resilient PNT as signed records, so a buyer or an auditor can check what was delivered against what was specified.

    استانداردها
    US Executive Order 13905 · DHS Resilient PNT Conformance Framework · ITU-T G.8275.1 · IEEE 1588-2019
  10. Failure and recovery

When a node fails, the fleet knows first

When a node for resilient PNT goes silent or a sensor drifts, the node buffers its data and fails over to a second link where the site has one. The alert carries the evidence a responder needs, and the record for resilient PNT loses nothing and counts nothing twice.

  11. How it scales

    One base unit, repeated

A network for resilient PNT starts with one base node and the instruments it reads. A station adds power and radio, a site adds a relay and a fleet repeats the proven site, so capacity for resilient PNT grows by adding units, never by replacing what works.

  12. What you get

    Timing and positioning integrity

PTP grandmasters with GNSS holdover, interference detection and timing monitoring for networks and instruments. For resilient PNT, it goes to carriers, utilities, financial infrastructure and observatories as hardware and software or a managed service, sized to the sites they run.

    Resilient PNT, planned with you

Tell us the sites, the systems resilient PNT must work with and the outcome you need, with a map or a list of addresses if you have one. An engineer replies with a survey proposal, a design and a scope for resilient PNT, and the plan grows from one site to the network you need.

Resilient PNT.

The shared foundations every network and sensor depends on: how spectrum is licensed, shared and monitored, GNSS positioning and its corrections, packet timing with PTP and SyncE, grandmasters and holdover, resilient PNT alternatives, and the detection of interference, jamming and spoofing. Each technology below carries what it is, what we do with it, and the standard it is drawn against.
