Fronthaul, midhaul and backhaul.

8 technologies in core and transport networks.

Technologies

Transport requirements for 5G xhaul Capacity, latency and sync requirements for each segment between radio and core.
Carrier Ethernet mobile backhaul Ethernet services with defined performance for backhaul across third-party networks.
Licensed microwave (6–42 GHz) Point-to-point radio backhaul for long hops where fibre is not available.
E-band (71–76 and 81–86 GHz) Multi-gigabit short-hop radio links for urban and campus backhaul.
D-band and W-band radio Links above 90 GHz giving very high capacity over a few hundred metres.
Free-space optics Laser links between buildings or masts with fibre-like capacity and no spectrum licence, limited by fog.
Satellite backhaul for RAN LEO and GEO links backhauling remote cell sites into the core.
Aerial relays for backhaul Tethered drones and HAPS carrying backhaul for disaster and temporary coverage.
